Ingredients
Chicken - 1 kg
Red chillies(Kollamulaku) - 5 nos
Black pepper - 1 1/2 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
Black jeera - 1/4 tsp
Cloves(Grambu) - 4 nos
Cinnamon(Karugapatta) - 1 no
Cardamom(Elakka) - 2 nos
Ginger - 2 tsp
(thinly sliced)
Garlic - 2 tsp
Cashewnuts - 10 nos
(soaked in water)
Raisins(Onakka munthiri) - 10 nos
Tomato(diced) - 2 nos
Onion - 3 nos
(thinly sliced)
Salt - As reqd
Oil - 1 - 2 tbsp
Coriander leaves - A bunch
Preparation Method
1)Marinate the chicken with some salt and turmeric powder for 30 mins.
2)Make a powder of red chillies, black pepper, mustard seeds, black jeera,
cloves, cinnamon and cardamom.
3)Mix this masala powder with a little water.
4)Grind the cashews and raisins together and set aside.
5)Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
6)Saute onion, till brown.
7)Add garlic and ginger and saute for a min.
8)Add the masala paste and stir, till the oil separates.
9)Add the diced tomato and stir well for 2 mins.
10)Add the marinated chicken and let the chicken get coated well with
the masala.
11)Add 1 1/2 cups of water and salt.
12)Cover and cook on a medium heat, till the chicken is well done.
13)Add the cashew and kismis paste and remove from heat.
