of Advaita.
The shrine at Kalady, the birth place of
Adi Shankaracharya (788 - 830 A.D.), is a pilgrimage
centre of people from all over the world. Sringeri Mutt temple,
Sree Ramakrishna Advaita Ashramam and Adishankara Keerthi Stambha
Mandapam are the important centres in Kalady. The temple has been
built with the hope that it would ultimately become a shrine for
all religions and an abode of peace.

the spot where Aryamba, Adi Shankara's mother, was cremated.
