Venue: Omalloor, 5 km south of
Pathanamthitta town.
Vayalvanibham, the annual cattle fair of the State,
is held in the Malayalam month of Meenam (Pisces). People from all
over the State and even outside participate in this rustic fair.
Located on the lower reaches of the Western Ghats,
Pathanamthitta is an enchanting stretch of forests, rivers and rural
landscapes. The annual fair highlights the diverse agricultural
and animal products of this nature rich district. Animals and farm
products are auctioned, bargained for, sold and bought amid great
excitement and gaiety at the picturesque village of Omalloor. The
village is also famous for its 'Rakthakanta Swamy Temple'.
